Did some quick searching around but didn't see much for any recent sales/auctions for a used GTX295. I found some old auctions for $600+ but these didn't even seem close to what the card would be worth today.

Got a friend with a XFX GTX295 (dual PCB) that is about a year old. What is ball park figure? I would offer him what I could get in equivalent performance on a newer card minus a bit.

Also, could I tr-SLI this with a GTX275 (downclocked)?
If i can't I'd just use it to Fold.

Ebay prices for used GTX295 are on the average of $400+shipping. I would offer $370-400 range is a fair price. A GTX295 is equal or a little less than a 5870. . No you can't tri sli, only thing you can do is quad by adding another GTX295.

I sold off my 295 for $360 a few weeks ago. Really, $350 is what they should go for at most. Anything more and I think it's a rip. Why not wait for Fermi to come out? The prices on the 295 should then significantly drop.

id sell yur 275 and get a 5870

ya i've been thinking about that. I really really wanted a 2nd 275 when they came down in price, but since i bought mine its gone up $100 (50%) of what i paid in june last year!

5870 is faster. runs cooler. uses less power and has eyefinity and dx11 not to mention no sli issues

But its also $400. Not looking to put $400 into a computer right now.

If you're offering your friend $350 for the 295 then it shouldn't be a big deal. I'm sure you could find a 5870 used somewhere for around the same price. You could also buy a 5850 new for around $300. It's probably a better buy than a 295 because you wouldn't have any SLI issues. (I'm speaking as an Nvidia fan who hasn't touched any ATI cards because of Linux driver issues.)

why not buy a 5870 for 350 somewhere then sell your 275 for 175 somewhere

you'll have 2x the gaming power easily and 175 out of pocket,,,,

seeems like a no brainer to me.
