Use VSTHost effects with other applications?

Hello! This'll be my first post here!

So i recently bought a lovely Blue Yeti microphone, I've never really had a good mic so it's pretty great to finally have one!

Since it offers different types of directional inputs, its pretty easy to get rid of at least 50% of all noise around it, and messing around with the inbuilt gain controls and distance from the mic allows for even better results, but in the end, it still picks up some of my fans.

This is not a problem when recording with audacity and such, i simply have to add some noise removal and the problem is almost eliminated, however, i recently started looking into trying to add some sort of "real-time" noise removal, having some delay is really not that much of an issue for me anyway, so i found this thing...

It's called VSTHost and i got a noise removal plugin for it, and it works! It builds its own noise profile and then actively supresses that noise forever and in real-time.

Here comes my question! Does anyone know how to "route" that solution directly to my mic output? Right now, it only works inside of VSTHost, how can i "add" the effect to my real output? For example, how can i use it in Skype?

I'm sorry if i explained badly, im very new with these things!

Thanks in advance!

VST plugins works within certain applications. If you use an audio driver with its own application and built in DSP mixer, and it allows 3rd party plugins (I think it's non-existent), then you can run it. Unfortunately I don't know any audio drivers that lets you add 3rd party plugins. At best with my current audio interface I can only adjust gain, volume, pan, solo & mute, and change input/output routes. No DSP.

You'll either want to get yourself a noise-cancelling mic or a wind screen or something to block the wind from your fan from getting into the mic. Alternatively, you can reposition the mic so that it's outside the fan's blowing area, that is, above the fan.

Thanks for your comment!

Okay well i suppose there's not much more i can do, i built my own shock-mount and the microphone is on the table while the PC is on the floor under the table, it's not that bad to be honest but i was still curious. Since its a USB mic im not really sure what sort of software options i have avalible.

Thanks again.
