I notice on some games im not able to max them, or i'll enable something in game(FXAA in Skyrim) and the framerate would be really low.


I notice ati has settings for games, how does that work? and is it better for performance ? will it override the ingame settings?


I have a XFX 7950 overclocked 1050/1425 , i'll raise that higher once im able to test.

CPU= 955 BE 4.0 Ghz

8GB RAM
 
You should always use in game settings. Control panel should always be application preference - Override is the last resort, for older games most of the time. Override AA is not as optimized or game specific.
 
Is there a reason why FXAA gives me so much trouble? is the problem AA on max?

Hmm, not sure, I use both FXAA and MSAA in skyrim and it seems okay. Does it still do that if you leave your control panel with everything at application preference?
 
WTF, you have SSAA turned on, no wonder. Turn AA to multi sampling, and turn edge AA off.

That is a super high and super expensive form of AA...you should be using MSAA and leave it there :)
 
That seems to have helped. im getting 60 now.

Hopefully i'll have a playable frame rate when i install the HD mods

Also , turn of morphological anti aliasing. Just noticed that as well. These settings:

morphological antialiasing, edge AA, adaptive AA, super sample AA

are not meant for 100% use, use them sparingly in games that don't have native AA (MLAA) or you want to enhance the visuals on an older game (edge AA, SSAA, Adaptive AA).
