usb2 external cord length

The thought crossed my mind today while looking at reviews for usb2 drives. Has anyone tried to run benchmarks with extrememly long cords or short cords to see if it effected preformance?

The bottleneck probably still the chipset but I was just curious if anyone had tried like 10 foot cable vs 6 inch cable
