I'm looking for a good USB TV/AV Input box that I can use to capture TV as well as input video from an old MiniDV cam that has A/V plugs on it.

OS: Windows

Looking for product suggestions as well as links to online retailers, or if a popular store has it at a low price, suggest that (bestbuy, compusa, circuit city)

Thanks a lot everyone!

edit: prefer one that doesn't have external power, but if the best is ext. powered, that's fine.

i dunno about the a/v part, but i just bought the hauppauge wintv -hvr900

it uses usb2.0, as i aint got no more pci slots, so i had to go external, and it captures analogue and digital signals and allows you to record programmes to mpeg, but it uses software encoding for that.

I will say it is a cool thing, i have had it barely aweek and i can get 80-90 channels all as good quality as any other capture card and it barely uses 20-30% cpu usage when recording programmes, it even has a epg so that you can look to see whats on later on in the day and then 1 click on the programme info and it will schedule it for recording.

all in all, a pretty decent usb tv tuner.

It has only 1 connection and thats for the supplied aerial, there is one of those small usb connections on the side of it, but i dunno what that is for, as it dont say, maybe you could do something with that ????
