I have an Asus VR laptop GL502 series that has four usb 3 ports, but one is a usb c. Looking at Amazon there seems to be mostly oriented at Macs which I don't use. Anyone here point me to a link for one that has a cable don't like the kind that just plugs directly into the c port. Think with a sensor cable plugged in too much stress would be on port. Also would be nice if it could also support other external 3.0 devices such as external hdds. Thanks for any help....

grabbed mine at best buy. It's white and I believe was for mac. Works well. I use it for the rear sensor with the extension. It's USB c to female usb 2.0.

Can't report the functionality of the c to usb 3 though.

I have a gl502 as well.

I bought the Apple one. Bit more than some of the others, but guaranteed to be a "real" adapter and not a hack. Works perfectly for the USB audio (I hooked up the sensors natively). :)
