??Usb to ide cable, it this possible??

:p wazzzz up? i dont know if its because im really cheap, or because i dont have any money, i was wondering if i could make my own usb to ide cable. i dont know if this is possible or if its been done. if it is possible how would i go about wiring?>Need some input!

I wouldn't say it's impossible... Depending, of course, on your definition of a "cable" You could fairly easily make your own USB to IDE converter using an FPGA to do the protocol translation. (assuming you already know Verilog or some similar hardware description language) Never say anything is not possible when talking about computers moving data, it's just a matter of getting all the bits in the right order :D
 
Elmntskater1588, if you don't need the external enclosure and just want the conversion board, search for an IDE-to-USB bridge or ATA-to-USB bridge.
