OK so it's a new laptop, Alienware M17X R4.
I swapped the HDD today for a Crucial M4 512Gb, changed SATA in BIOS to AHCI, and did a fresh Win7 install, then all the drivers from Dell.
It's working fine, and really fast, but I have a weird issue now with USB flash drives.
They take ages to detect.
I put it in the USB port, and nothing happens for ages. After maybe 20 seconds, it will pop up.
Same when I remove it. I click 'safely remove', and about 20 seconds later it says safe to remove. Then when I do, I'll hear the little noise meaning drive has been pulled like a minute after I've removed it.
I tried a few different flash drives, and tried them on my desktop, also Win7, they detect within 2 seconds.
Anyone had this issue, or know how to resolve it?
