i just bought a new hdd for my laptop and i want to buy a external usb or firewire box for the old harddrive but i cant find one that powered from the usb or firewire. do they exist? ive been looking all over newegg but cant find any.

I'm assuming it's a 2.5" drive since it's from a laptop. Once you get to the 3.5" drives, they take more power. Not sure if anyone makes an enclosure for them that pulls power from the USB port.
