I have this USB Hub (Belkin model F5U014-OE):

And this is my case:

I want to make the hub into a set of front USB ports. How can I do this?

I hve the EXACT SAME hub!!!!!! lol you could cut a hole in the front of the case, mount the hub inside it flush with the surface, then use bondo to smoooth it out. or you could make some sort of drive bay thingy.

Or you could crack open the hub, rip out it's guts and mount those someplace in your case

there arent any screws on it, so im guessing if you took a screwdriver and put force on the cracks, it will pop open. you should be able to put it back together.

EDIT: there are two screws under the label on the bottom, i just realized it.

I put one of those on my marantz case. Just crack it open. It's probably held in by a single screw. Tap a piece of metal or acrylic that is mounted to the inside of the front bezel so you can screw that same screw into the front. Wow I dont even think that made sense. I need a nap.

I modded 2 USB ports into the side of my case's front bezel. The type I used was the kind that comes with many mobos and fits in an unused PCI opening in the case. I used the plate for a cutting template and then just screwed it into place. The nice thing about this, was that It plugs into the mobo so no external wiring.
