Ok, some people may know about it, others might now, however:

Microsoft XP/Vista USB polling rate which is default at 125hz (equiv to 8ms).

There are XP/Vista "hacks" that can change this value to be faster (IE: 500hz, 1000hz), which is common on the new lazer mice (read: Logitech, Razer, etc).

I am using an old MS Intellimouse 3.0, which is a pretty great mouse, a lot of "pro gamers" depend on this, I don't consider myself one, but I am a purist and I do notice the difference. I am not buying another mouse quite yet, but I know I could change the USB polling rate in a number of ways using files/applications.

My problem, however, is Vista x64.

I have my digital signed drivers flag off, and tried some switches, even those slated to work for x64 Vista, no go. Read that two recent Windows Updates (specifically for X64 Vista) would cause it not work, tried uninstalling those, no go.

Replacing the USBport.sys driver just stops the USB service all together, and an easy fix is a PS2 keyboard.

Just wondering, has anyone gotten this working at all?
