Hello, right now I have an SNES controller hooked up to my parallel port. I am also wiring up a PS2 controller to be hooked up to my parallel port as well.

At first I was going to use a simple switcher, but it looks like I'd have to reinstall the drivers every time I switch them. So using one parallel port is out.

Then I was going to find a PCI Parallel card, but will have to go through to much trouble to buy one. (i can't buy things online, my checking card was cancelled).

So now I'm thinking of using a USB to Parallel converter. But my question is, how do they work exactly? Have people wired up their own parallel PS2 or SNES controllers and then used them with a USB converter?

Basically I don't want to buy one and then find out that I can't use it as I wish. Thanks for the help.

ps: I'm not looking for recommendations of buying an actual USB Ps2 converter. I enjoy making these things on my own, and already have all the parts. :)

As far as I know, all comercially availalble USB to Parallel converters are designed for printers...

Mobieus and I have made an interface for USB to parallel for and LCD once but it was very expensive and funded by school.
