USB Mouse polling rate OCing on Intellimouse Explorer 3.0

Hi all,

I'm looking into hardware for a 144hz FPS gaming setup and am wondering about th USB polling rate on my 5 plus year old intellimouse explorer 3.0, https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA9JN3FR9191

Apparently the default is 125 hz refresh but newer mouses have higher or variable refresh rates to reduce inout lag. I used to play competitive CS on a 144hz CRT V sync off and didn't know I had any issues before, would it matter more now?

intellimouse 3.0 was a horrible mouse for fast action games. it very quickly showed a non linaery acceleration kurve. and even a slope in the kurve.
aka moving the mouse faster meant the mouse moved slower...

if you don't had an isue with Intellimouse 3.0 you probably don;t have an issue with the 125hz.
Ii would say that he the mouse doesn't act the way you handle it would be a far bigger problem than not having above 125hz mouse input
