Ok so my motherboard wont detect my PS2 keyboard i think there is something wrong with the ps2 connector on the motherboard itself. everything loads up fine but then it sits at the screen where it says your keyboard was not detected press f1 to continue. Now my question is, is there a way to get the USB keyboard to detect when i first boot up the PC?

most motherboard have an option in the bios to detect or not detect usb keyboards..

also, you can change the "halt on [all errors]" option.. usually on the first page of the bios with the hard drive detection.. to "halt on [all errors, but keyboard]"

what motherboard do you have? maybe someone else has the same one and can tell you exactly where it is

I cannot even get into the bios to change anything because my ps2 keyboard wont work. Do you think i would be able to dectect my keyboard if i go get a serial ---> ps2 connector?

1. verify you're plugging the keyboard into the right PS/2 connector (it happens ^_- )
2. try another PS/2 keyboard.

Generally speaking, you won't be able to enable USB keyboard support without having a functioning PS/2 keyboard first, as this option in the BIOS is disabled by default.
