Ok here is my situation, please help if you can. I have a 4GB Lexar FireFly jump drive that I had full of MP3's. Originally on my laptop (Vista Home Premium) it showed all the folders on it, I opened a few and listened to them. I then used the "safely remove hardware", and waited for it to tell me that it was safe to remove hardware before I unplugged it. Then I put it on my desktop (XP Pro) and only a few of the folders were visible, so I put it back on the laptop and now it's showing only the same few folders that the desktop shows. The drive properties on both machines still show the drive is full (3.72 GB used, 1.75 MB free) but only about 480 MB of data is accessible/showing.
I have set both machines to show hidden folders and the files still aren't showing up.
I have downloaded various free file recovery programs, and none of them can find any deleted files to recover.
I have searched and searched google and can't find anything that's doing the trick. If someone here can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. These aren't terribly important files or anything, but if I can recover them it would be nice, but it's not a big enough deal to spend $50 to $60 dollars on a better recovery program.
