Usb Driver Nightmare

Good evening, i wonder if someone could help me,

I recently bought a USB MMC Reader i plugged it in an was surprised to find that i needed to install a driver so i inserted the cd that came with the little Card Reader and i clicked on the wrong model number.
i.e I installed the WRONG driver DOH!!!!!.

I went to device manager and removed the incorrect driver then restarted my pc and tried again. This time windows automatically installed the wrong driver.

How can i sort this out i know i can just use System Restore but i would like to get this sorted not just cheat my way out :D

If i remember correctly last time i reinstalled windows and plugged my Digital camera in i was given some options along the lines of:

Do you want windows to search the internet for a driver etc blah blah?
Do you want to install a specific driver from a disc?
Never Ask Me Again


!!!!!!!!How can I make windows stop installing USB stuff automatically!!!!!!

this might work: look on the cd for the .inf that was installed, then search your hd for it and delete it.
 
Ive tried removing the inf file but no luckw windows now installs it as a USB <-> Serial Device even before i can intercept when i remove the driver and plug my Card Reader in BANG USB <-> Serial Driver installes GRRRRRRRRRRR
