Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any data recovery recommendations? Someone at work dropped their laptop on the usb drive and it broke clear off. This is stuff that only exists on the usb drive and is thesis type of material. Just wondering if anyone has any experiences with places like this, and price is not really a huge concern as it is "priceless"
 
You are pretty much screwed. If you feel so bold you can take the end and try to solder it back on, but not likely. A data recovery will run from hundreds to thousands. Not worth it, IMO.
 
Consider it an expensive lesson in data redundancy/backups, lol. You either pay with $$ or time (to redo the work or to repair the usb drive).

BTW, if the file was open, should be a tmp file in the directory.
