I have an Apacer 7-In-1 internal card reader that i've been having some trouble with. Occasionaly it stops working, and I must turn off the computer, unplug it from the mobo, turn it back on, shut it down, plug it back in and then turn it on. At this point the reader works again, but stops if I reboot or shutdown the computer. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing it to not work reliably?

It might be the drivers. Is it plugged into a hub? Do your other USB devices work OK? Have you tried changing USB ports? If none of those do it for you, card readers are pretty cheap, get a new one.

No, it is plugged directly into the mobo via headers. All my other USB devices work fine.

Sorry, missed the part about it being internal. Have you tried connecting it to a different internal USB port?

I dont know if I have any other free ones, if I do I suppose that is the next logical thing to try.
