I noticed the other day at Best Buy that many TV's had what seemed like a USB port that had a flash drive in it that was playing the movie/pictures/video ETC onto the TV. Although when I search around online at like Newegg, it doesn't seem like any of the TV's actually have the USB port that I am looking for.

I want to project either digital photographs in a timed sequence all off of a single piece of equipment such as a flash drive (don't want a whole computer or DVD/VCR plugged in). Any suggestions on models for Westinghouse or Samsung specifically? Best bang for the buck for 37 to 42 inchers?

With regard to your initial inquiry, TVs with USB ports, having a name for the brand that you saw with these feature would be a good place to start. Also, I understand not wanting to have to hook up the VCR/DVD units to get this done, if possible. However, without part #1 being filled in, I would suggest you look at the Upscaling DVD players. A lot of them have built in card readers/USB ports for just this sort of thing. To my knowledge, most TV's with a USB port have it solely for updating the firmware revision of the TV, not for media playback. That's not to say it isn't possible, but I haven't seen one. LMK if you recall the manufacturers name, and maybe someone (or myself) will jump in.

On part #2, best bang for the buck on a 37 or 42...tough to beat a Westinghouse right now. The only drawback is that you'll need a separate box/tuner to get a cable signal, it does not have one built in. It does however, have plenty of connections, and are both 1080P capable.

The picture will be crisper on the 37", since all other specs are the same, smaller screen at same resolution means smaller dot pitch, meaning clearer text and sharper graphics. Works great as a PC monitor (check my sig).
