I have a computer that is running surveillance software with 4 hi-def web cams. It takes 2 web cams to suck up all the bandwidth on each USB controller. I've got two controllers currently. One for the rear motherboard ports, one for the front case ports.
If I add a PCI USB expansion card to my motherboard, will that in essence create an independent controller for me or will it just share resources from the existing ones? I'm looking to add 2 more cameras to my box.
