I’ve just built a machine with an IC7-MAX3 mobo. Installed WinXP pro + SP1.

Now, when I plug in a WD External Hard Drive it tells me that I’ve connected a fast 2.0 device and that my connection is a slow 1.0 and may not utilize the high speeds.

The USBs on the mobo are 2.0 so what am I missing here?

install your mother board drivers, sound drivers, usb drivers, chipset drivers, etc, that will fix your problem, you mother board should have came with the disk

Chipset drivers, then windows update has a fix for USB 1.1 and USB 2 problems.
