Motherboard is Lanparty Ultra-D for socket 939 AMD 64.

I checked under "Universal serial bus controller",

it said that I have "Standard OpenHCD USB host controller".

I think this is not USB 2.0 since USB 2.0 will say "Enhanced USB host controller".

So, what driver shall I use so that I can get USB 2.0 ?

Thank You

If I remember right, I got all my updates and then went into Device Manager and then re-installed the drivers for all of my USB's. Took care of it for me.

With XP and SP-2 I don't think you will need any additional drivers. If you did I would assume thath DFI would have included them on their driver disk.

You are correct sir. XP since SP1 has USB 2.0 drivers included

Check your BIOS, the enhanced controller is probably turned off.

checked, installed, but when I plug in, it shows TWO univeral serial bus controller.

One is the new installed from DFI CD driver disk but when I plug my IPOD shuffle in it, it is not under PCI class USB 2.0 enhanced host controller, it is using the Standard one.

so.......

i have this same problem right now and it shows two usb controllers but whenever i plug in my external it never logs as a usb 2.0 port

and when it crashes my system (BSOD) when i try to install my netgear wireless usb2.0 drivers

i have sp2 installed too

try installing in this order:

windows -> chipset drivers -> sp2 -> usb2.0 drivers

I have not had any problems with USB 2.0 since I slipstreamed SP2 onto XP. Everything works like a charm.

Edit: Make sure you have the latest BIOS and quadruple check your Bios settings.

i feel like it's cause i'm missing a critical update or something because i don't have internet and i can't update it past SP2

i will try later today

thanks guys, it crashed again after using a slipstream copy of sp2 winxp

but i checked the newest bios and apparently they had an enhanced usb fix so that's probably why.
