usb 2.0 help

i haven't and i don;t plan too..
i mean if the solution to fixing every problem is to get new stuff.. we would all jsut buy new pcs all the time

Personally speaking here... YMMV

I would rather drop $10 on a known solution than eating up 20 or more hours and two weeks trying unsuccessfully to fix it. Besides, you can never have enough USB ports :)

Let's go back a few steps...After reading the Motherboard manual, they never specify that all USB HCs are 2.0 HCs.

So, what are you seeing in the device manager when you look at it by "View devices by connection"?

Are you seeing a bunch of entries like the one highlighted?

I have a pretty good feeling not every single port on your system is actually a USB 2.0 Host Controller.

If every entry in that DevManger view reports the Host Controller as "2.0 Enhanced Host Controller" then you have issues, other wise, they're not all 2.0 HCs and if your thumb drive isn't dangling off one of those 2.0 ECHI entries, you're running off a 1.1 port.

yes i have that i have 2 enchanced and 5 standard host controller.. the problem is that i plugged my thumb drive into all of my available or possible to be available drive and still nada...

I have the same issue, to the T, enhanced controller in the device manager and everything, all my USB ports are being used on onboard USB2.0 with my motherboard, I plug a USB2.0 device in and it tells me to move it to a USB2.0 port, and lists (all) 8 ports on my pc, none of which work at USB2.0

I have read on MS Knowledge Base that there is a problem with Win XP SP1 and Hi-Speed USB add-on cards. This card have NEC chipset that handle all data transactions.

I have tried to reinstall usb and mp3 drivers, reinstall OS, etc etc etc
but the mp3 connect and riconnect. I cannot use it!!!

I'm Goin' CRAZY!!!!!

Do you have a solution???
