USB 2.0/Firewire external enclosure???

I am trying to get an external SATA enclosure due to the fact that I'm running out of storage space.

Is it true that USB 2.0 is too slow to stream video (DivX, DVD, 640x480 size, fairly HQ video files)? Or should I go with firewire?

From what i have been told, USB2.0 is supposed to be as fast as firewire....

I have found alot more devices that are USB2.0 friendly than are fireware friendly....
 
DivX is usually only a megabit or two. If USB or Firewire won't deliver that, there's something seriously wrong.
