Are there any utilities out there that will diagnose a bad external drive?
I have a 40GB Fujitsu Laptop drive in a Vantec Nexstar enclosure hooked up with USB 2.0, so this probably rules out boot-up drive diagnostics.
Seagate has a tool that runs online, which is cool, but I haven't tried that yet and this is a Fujitsu drive as well, so I'm wondering if anyone can suggest anything.
I am running Burn In Test 3.0's hard drive stress test overnight to see if that notices any problems, but it can only test up to 15% of the drive's capacity and I want to know if somethings wrong with the disk because it's been freezing in the middle of transfers and not powering up sometimes when I plug it in
