usb 1 vs 2... would i notice a difference?

I'm thinking about getting a usb soundcard for my laptop, so i can go 5.1 to my receiver, and i was wondering if i would notice a difference between a usb 2.0 card, or a 1.0 one.. i saw i can get the audigy 2 nx for like 140 or the extigy for like 80. but isn't the extigy only usb 1.0?

and i will use the usb for more than just sound, so it won't be getting the full bandwidth.
 
This was addressed a while back, and me (and I think xonik were talking about it, stupid search), and yes there is a difference. A full 5.1 stream of audio would theoretically be impossible down a USB 1.1 line, since the limit on it is around ~12 Mbps, and the total bandwidth used was somewhere around ~13 Mbps.


Plus the Audigy 2 NX has better sound.
 
alright thanks... i went through 5 or 6 pages looking, but didn't see anything about it..
