URU not recognizing the CD

Has anyone had problems with Uru not recognizing the CD? I bought the game, installed it, patched it, and still nothing. It keeps giving me an "insert CD" error. Help?
 
How old is your CD drive? There have been problems with older drives not being able to read the disk properly. Here is a thread in the main Ubi.com Uru forums that deals with that issue. There are a couple of other fixes you can try incase it isn't your drive that is the problem.
 
are you running any kind of virtual drive? some of the newer copy protection schemes seem to detect virtual drives and won't run until you disable them (even if you have the real cd in a drive) i've had a similar problem with a few games and that was the fix
