Every processer i have installed has had a big metal top, this processor is mostly silicon..now do i need any arctic silver, or whats up?

You dont NEED it but its very recommended, just put a small dab on the hsf in the middle.

The little metal rectangle in the center. This is where you apply the thermal grease.

the method i use which works very well is to put a small dab of your arctic silver(or other TIM) then spread it around with your finger inside of a plastic baggy, the TIM wont adhere to it as much as your skin and its easy to spread it evenly

Just a word of advice, make sure when you apply it you apply a TINY amount. And when spread on the core you should havea mirror thin finish. Less is MORE when it comes to applying Arctic Silver (thats prolly in the posted URL but I thought id reiterate the importance of putting a super thin layer on the core of your cpu).
