I just have to ask..... I'm hitting a personal record here with my boxen and just have to ask if this is good or normal.

I'm going on 3 weeks on my GPU boxen (2x 9800GX2 cards, 4 GPU clients) I have not touched the thing in that time. Nothing. I have left it on when we went to CO for 4 days, when we went to WV over the weekend.

It just humms along. I would have figured that running 4 clients, something would have gone wrong.

I find my self with extra time now.... I'm lost :confused:

 
Wow...I've never had any of the new f@h clients remain stable for more than a few days.
Even my headless folders need a reboot about 3x per 2 weeks.
 
My g4 mac mini broke 130 days without a restart while folding 24/7. Of course its in pieces now cause I broke the stupid clips for the cpu heat sink while taking it apart for cleaning.
 
My 3 boxen have been like a rock. Only 1 problem (long 1-4 interaction) during the last couple of weeks. The last time I rebooted was for Windoz updates. Thats 5 SMPs and 4 gpus.

 
Between the Linux SMP clients and the single GPU client I don't actually have problems with uptime on the boxen. Now, I do have trouble getting some of the clients to grab new work after it finishes an A2 core unit. For the clients running A1 core units I have no trouble at all.

 
I can say I am pleased with the GPU client also. I have turned mine on/off on occasion to play games but other than that I leave every weekend and would me surprised to come home to any problems with either of my clients really.

Come to think of it...knock on wood, but I don't think I have had anything happen to my SMP since the whole beta expiration snafu.

Sounds about right for running GPU clients. I have one boxen at 23 days up running 3x WCG clients and 1x GPU and another at 26 days running the same mix. The 3 days short on teh one boxen was due to an AV update that required a reboot.


 
My 12 machines I have to reboot 1 of them a week is about norm... nothing overly outrageous.

 
I seldom reboot my boxens. some is chugging for over 1 month without any issue. The rare times I have to mess with is mostly to kill a struck core process (it always resume fine after doing this) or to restart the client because the ISP borked the tubes.

 
The SMP and GPU clients have been running well for quite a while now. The last time I had to reboot any of my systems was probably a month ago and that was due to a software update unrelated to F@H.
 
I must not have knocked hard enough on that wood. I restarted my GPU this morning because my internet went tired last night and I had to reset my router. Rather than wait for the client to re-attempt the upload I just restarted it to save me some folding time.

 
i have the smp client on my file server.. its got an uptime of 5 weeks 4 days 19 hours on it with no issues.. only time it restarted was due to a power outage that lasted a whole 15 seconds..

Same here, all my gpu is trying to get work because something stalled. Since you got the same problem, I wonder if it's not a ISP issue but a backbone issue backfiring with the DNS. I just kicked the Endian box a bit and it restarted fine then restarted the clients to get them new work to save time.

Well, there has been a bit of the GPU looking for work issue, but this morning i think my DSL modem or linksys router just got tired of all that constant uptime and needed restarting. I couldn't check the weather this morning nor ping a couple websites.
