I have an older Sony Cybershot digital camera, has something like 1.3 MP or so and I was wondering if there are any programs available that would upsample the pixels so that I could blow the pictures up to poster size or even an 8x10 or something large, I think the camera's manual says you can go up to 5x7 at max resolution.

any ideas?

There was an old plugin for photoshop that I used once called Geniune Fractals that did a decent job of upsampling images.

Try Photoshop's own Resize Bicubic Smoother. Or Sharper. I'm pretty sure Smoother is better for enlarging.

There's only so much you can do though, you can't make chicken salad from chicken sh!t. =)
