I just had a power outage kill my PS3(wasn't even ON). So while shopping for a UPS for my future PS3 I had an idea of also getting one for my PC. I found this and it's plenty for a PS3.

I'm also thinking of getting one for the PC. I don't know how high to go up and is it crucial to have the power rating higher then what the PC draws? If the PC draws more then the rating, will the battery power work at all during blackouts or just give me much shorter time to shut down?

I would not buy a ups that has less than 800VA and that has only a single battery.

What kind of PS3 do you have? Fat or slim? I had a power spike kill my PS3 a few months back, just went on ebay, bought a new power supply, opened it up to swap out the dead one and it was good as new. Weird thing is, I had it hooked up to an APC surge protector.
