I have a Fortress 1425 3u UPS. It has 4 12v7ah SLA batteries in it giving me about 15 minutes of run time *according to the manual*. I've been given a few 12v50ah GEL batteries out of a wheelchair.
The plan is to modify the UPS to have an Anderson sb50 connector for the batteries to be external and to have the bigger batteries sitting else where.
Does anyone foresee any issues with this plan? I do not plan on mixing the 50ah and the 7ah. The setup would be 4 12v50ah batteries wired to the 48v the UPS uses.
Also want to pickup a Management card for this UPS, it has a serial port but I'd like to find a Connectups-BD WEB/SNMP CARD for it.
Any tips/warnings/advise would be appreciated.. Thanks
