I'm not too familiar with UPS devices.

I have a Cyberpower 1350AVRLCD that says the battery capacity is at 100% and fully charged. Yet if the power goes out there is 0 battery backup at all on my computer.

The device is only 2 years old and out of warranty. Would the 2 batteries fail that soon or is something else amiss on the device?
 
Depending on how much work it's been doing - yes they very well could be dead. Surpised it hasn't started alarming already. I'm not familiar with that brand but the APC software normally indicates what's up with the battery. I've acquired several big APC 1500 ups's that seem fine at first but the battery is worthless.
 
Really why would batteries die so fast if they have not been used very much ?
Or should they be used/ drained down every few months to keep the batteries from getting a memory ? Very good/interesting subject

Lead Acid batteries don't have memory problems. In fact, they really hate being deep discharged, there are deep cycle batteries but that just mitigates the issue, it doesn't completely eliminate the problem.

2 years is a bit early for a pair of SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries but it's not outside the realm of possibilities if they were heavily used. (which the original poster never mentioned one way or another)

edit: "really hate"? wow.. anthropomorphising batteries...
 
Did you build a new PC? Is the UPS plugged into the PC via USB or serial port? Are you running the UPS software?

Just a few guesses.
 
I've got a 1500 version of the cyberpower UPS. Batteries can last between 2-5 years, it all depends on how you treat them and how many chemical irregularities there are in each battery batch.

It's quite possible the batteries are dead, I know mine when I bout them about 4 years ago could last around 30 minutes with what I had plugged into them. Same stuff plugged into them today gives me maybe 90 seconds (I've just been lazy about replacing them).
 
Yep, replaced the batteries and it works great now.

No idea why it said 100% with the dead batteries though.
