Looking for something that can handle this puppy without getting one that requires a 20 Amp electrical socket. Any hope?

It depends on how much power you are using. You should list the computer specs and any other components that will be hooked up to the UPS.

If your 1200w PSU needs a UPS that requires a 20 Amp electrical socket, wouldn't that mean you would be using one already just to power your PC?

You should be able to use any decent UPS if you're just looking for enough time to shut everything down during a power outage. The PC in your sig isn't using anywhere near 1200w and the power supply will only draw what it needs not 1200w constantly.

The HardOCP review of the GTX470 + i7 920 test bed uses 165 watts at idle and 433 watts at load. Your power usage probably isn't far off that.

You can get an idea of how many Volt Amps you need from a UPS with this online tool (select configure by load)

Oh I agree...but I am planning on possibly going tri-SLI when the new Keps are released. I'm trying to mildly plan ahead with enough headroom, not knowing if the 'paper' specs thus far mean the lower power footprint is a crock of shit or not ;)
