Upgrading

amd xp2500 barton

1.83Ghz stock i have it OC'd to 2240hz
9700pro VGA Rev3 Silencer stock speeds (also im looking to OC, how?)
512MB corsair xms CL2 pc2700 heat spreder stock speeds (mobo can't change em, atleast i dont know how)
36gig raptor (prob gonna get another on raid 0 (should i get a raid controller, i was told they are much better than onboard, i'm not all that sure why.. but any input please)

now im trying to decide should i do minor upgrades? or get new system?
suggestions plz

also i can't decide if i want to hold out for pci-express and socket 939 to take over or DDR2 to take over..

note, my computer doesnt have dual channel mem

From what I've heard (can probably just search around the Data Storage forums for this info), performance increase on Raptors on RAID0 is negligible or not worth it at all. I'd do some reasearch first.

Well, is there anything you CAN'T do with your system well that you want to do? Upgrading just for the hell of it will generally leave you with empty pockets and unsatisfied. What exactly are you looking to get out of a new system?

If your into gaming getting an A64 system would probably give you the most noticable performance gain. Personally, I'm waiting on affordable 90nm 939's and PCI Express before I upgrade again.

if your wanting to OC your video card download ATITool, works pretty damn good for my 9600XT.
