Upgrading

worth it to upgrade for dell Dell E173FP (17 inch non-ultrasharp) to a Viewsonic VX2025wm(20.1 inch widescreen). Current monitor 16 ms resonse time, 1280x1024,450:1 contrast ratio, 250 brightness. New 8ms response time, 1680x1050, 800:1 contast, 300 brightness. Worth the 300 bucks? will i see differance for 3 inches more landscape?

well if i were you i would get a 24" FW900 off ebay. but knowing that you are coming from a LCD, you prolly dont want a hude 100lb CRT.

21" is a big difference over 17" and you will be getting better response time and contrast ratio. i would do it.
