I know this is not the fairly best place to post, but this was the only choice I had.

I'm moving into new apartment upcoming and would like to install/upgrade all critical wall outlets with two USB.

Now I've read and seen couple of items, they average 25$ a wall outlet, but I would like to see HF's opinions, I'm not total novice when it comes to electrical just have zero experience.

Some example:

http://www.amazon.com/In-wall-Standard-Decorator-Charging-Power2usb/dp/B00CJ9J74U/

Does anyone have experience with those stuffs if so is there anything I should know about?

Thanks!

The local Lowe's has the Cooper units in stock. I think for less than $20 each.

Check with your landlord first. If any of my tenants did this I would be extremely irate, possibly to the point of eviction. If you cause or if your wiring is the result of any electrical fires your ass is going to be in deep shit.

Yes if you are renting and do not own the building you may NOT do any electrical work
If you contact the Landlord and they approve a licensed electrician has to do the work

Replacing a wall outlet doesn't require a licensed electrician nor does it require any permits.

Too many church people here I think.

It's funny how 95% people here OC or does modding, yet they cry when it's to upgrading wall outlet.

I am fully aware of risks and all the fireworks that exhibits, I came here to find out which model offer best benefits. Not to be shouted at.

OK then I would get the first one you linked as it still provides 2 regular outlets and two USB outlets and looks to use a standard plate

I'm not shouting at you. Replacing an outlet in an apartment may be against your rental agreement. If it was your house I wouldn't give a shit what you do; however, as a renter I was just giving you a heads up. Any work done to my properties has to be approved by me even if it is painting an accent wall and any electrical work would have to be done by a licensed contractor. Even though it is a wall outlet and is low voltage it is still enough to kill and is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

No it doesn't unless you are upgrading one of my rentals then it does. Renting is different from owning. If you paint a wall in a rental and that is against the rental contract you will be held liable for the cost of repainting the wall. That has been pretty commonplace in any rental agreement I've ever been a part of.

It may not require a permit. However, if they aren't the owner of the building, local regulations may require the work be performed by a licensed electrician.
