Thought you guys could help me out I just upgraded my old Core 2 to a quad 3ghz phenom 2 and I'm wanting to upgrade my geforce 9600GT 512oc and looking for a descent upgrade if possible.

My budget is around $150.

Any suggestions would be apreciated.

I am pretty sure the consensus for that price point will be one of the 5770 offerings. Without looking at Newegg I believe the prices for those will be right around $160-170.

I'm on the ATI bandwagon right now until Nvidia shows me something. That said, I've seen some 4890's for that price also 5750, 5770, 4870. There are all kinds of choices. Hell, I'm sure you can get a 4870 512 or 1Gig for about $100+/- on the forum here - that would be a nice upgrade for you.

Find a GTX275 or 4890 on the forums. I wouldn't buy any videocard new right now the prices are outrageous. The 5770 is a slow 4870 with directx11 you're just wasting money unless you wanna get a 4870 for 110$ on the forums. Your 9600GT should hold out til about may when the prices should be competitive again. I think you wait it out a bit 5830's should be 150-200 AMIR in the next two months and 5850s $200-250.

I got my 5770 for about 150 shipped here on the forums. Great card for the price point. I'm pretty sure there are several others selling them at 140-150.

I know it's slightly out of your range, but I just purchased a 5850 radeon for a bit under $230 at CompUSA with Bing cashback.

Like everyone is saying, I got a 5770 for $140 in the FS/FT forums here. I've only had it for a week and haven't played too much with it, but I can, essentially turn all in game setting to maximum on Stalker, Call of Pripyat, and Dirt 2. That's running at 1440x900 on a "small" 19" LCD. But, for $140, its wicked sweet.
