Hey all, I need your opinions. I want to upgrade my card, currently a gf4 ti4200, money isn't a big problem, but I was wondering, should I just buy the upcoming NV40 or R420 or wait untill ATI or NVIDIA release a card using PCI-express.

Thanks

no one can answer your question because nvidia's and ati's next gen parts have not been announced yet, and no performance measuring has been done, it is unknown how good they are in games at this time

it is also unknown how pci-e will effect game performance at this time

also, there are no pci-e mobo's

it will likely be summer or fall till pci-e starts taking off, and about that long till we see each companies refresh part with pci-e (just a guess)

there are a lot of unknowns right now, that is why no one can answer your question

you'll just have to wait and see

well ask any of my friends and theyll say im an upgrade junkie so ME: id upgrade to a 9800pro/xt SMART PERSON: theyd wait

Just wait. Odds are though that first gen PCI-E isn't going to do anything for gaming performance.
