Does anyone know when next C2D release is?(1333fsb, 3.2ghz..) is it worth waiting?
Still deciding whats best for games n oveclocking: x6800,e6600,e6700, or qx6700?
Heard that x6800 is crap at ocin and that e6600 or e6700 can do much better hitting 4 ghz on air or 3.7 with stock voltage - is it true?

recently tried to run supreme commander on my sys - works perfect(way above 30fps) on top nv setts. with 8AA - only when game just begins or in the middle,
but towards the end when therer LOTS of units it gets uncomfortable frames drop to about 20fps, it sux... disabled AA - but didnt feel any diff.
Im wondering whats causing this - my cpu or gpu or both?

To some extent you are both cpu and gpu limited. If you go to a C2D and a faster vid card like an 8800 series, you are going to see a nice boost.

When was 8800gtx released in us or europe - aprox. how long ago? Are there any new G80 series to be released soon? or its G90 next?
Thx

You've somehow managed to be told a whole much of bullshit.

x6800 is not crap. It's just extremely expensive and not worth the money for it, unless you wipe your ass with dollar bills.

For games, quad core currently won't help much, and would generally overclock less than dual cores.

You can never be assuming 4ghz on air and 3.7 on stock. Those numbers are so far off and ridiculous.

With the e6600+, you can hope for 3.4-3.5 as a standard overclock, with a fair chance of getting 3.6 with more voltage and adequate cooling. Even more than that may be possible but would require skill and some more luck. Same applies for all e66/67/68.

You can't get 3.2 from 333fsb, and if you're overclocking anyway, that's moot and running 8x400=3200 would give you more fsb anyway.

You are probably right, but Ive read that people oc their 6600s to 4ghz, and they were saying that 6800 couldnt go passed 3.75ghz, kinda confusing... Ive also seen some sigs on these forums where 6600s were @~3900mhz on air.

My 1st question was about new intels release(don't know the name of cpu), but fsb will be 1333mhz, and stock clock speeds either 3.2 or 3.4 or 3.3ghz - cant remember. - was just wondering if anyone knew when theyr due to be released.

Then what about this: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1138241

More people have E6600's than X6800's. Therefore, since there is a much larger test group, more people have been able to overclock their chips above 4000MHz than people with X6800's. Well, that would be my excuse as to why the 6600's are overclocking better.

With the E6300, E6400, and E6600, yes, there are lots of people getting 3ghz and more....even 3.2ghz is fairly common, but those speeds are getting to "exceptional" IMO. ANY of those 3 that break 3.5ghz is VERY exceptional and many have to water cool to do it.

So do not EXPECT to get anything more than stock ;) but it's a fairly good expectation regardless, to be able to easily hit 3.0 to 3.2 on those cpu's given a half decent mobo that has the proper voltage and speed/timing options.

I love my E6400, I am not even going to try for more than 3200mhz, shit, my 8800GTS is maxed out now so more speed won't do jack.

Ok, do you think that if Ill oc my card - supreme commander will run any better? As Ive mentioned - switching all nv opps. off, even reducing resolution didn't help - still felt the same as with high quality... It just slows down when lots a units appear, so kinda makes me wonder if its a multithreaded app. and requires more then 1 core.
Q: Should I overclock the hell out of this pisacrap card and will I see any improvement?
2nd Q: How do you oc it? with previous drivers, nvidia c.panel was different all I had to do is install coolbits or whatever, but with this new one, I really have no clue.
Any suggestions are more than welcome, thx.
