Currently have a powercolor 7870 that im going to be giving to my father for a pc im building for him and looking to upgrade mine. Im looking at the 290x and just wondering what brands seem to be performing better then the rest and also im using a silverstone raven 3 which has the mobo rotated 90 degrees and wondering what everyone might recommend for best air flow since the gpu will be hanging vertical. Thanks
 
Do you see any issue with the card hanging down instead of the normal horizontal layout. Heres a pic of my case, pretty close to the same setup i have.

Thanks for all the input guys. ended up picking up the powercolor for $445 with the $150 free games promo and a free power bank so think i scored a pretty good deal.
