I'm about to make the jump from my Q6600 to one of the latest processors, the 2600k. I currently have an Nvidia GTX295 co-op edition. I plan to play knights of the old republic, BF3 etc..

Should I go with a new GPU or wil the GTX295 work?

The GTX295 will work fine. You will of course stand to gain from upgrading it in the future, but you'd have to spend a lot to see a significant improvement.

It may be great to get a DX11 card for your setup, but I would think you're going to have to go to at least a GTX 570 or 6970 to edge that card out.

If I were you I would hold off until the next high end cards come out from Nvidia and AMD. By then you will be able get something that should beat your 295 by large margins for 350$, as opposed to being roughly equal to it now.
