Upgrading soon; will I need a new PSU?

Sorry for the probably commonplace thread, but the stickies are a bit over my head. I'm not someone who's looking to calculate amperage and voltages (and wouldn't know how if I had to - heck, I don't even know what a "rail" is); I just want to plug all my crap in there and have it work.

Anyway, I currently have an antec 420w psu, and am going to be putting together a full system upgrade soon. It'll be something along the lines of the following:

A8N-SLI Premium
Athlon 4000+ San Diego
2 Gig ram
Probably a 7800GT
X-Fi xtrememusic

and I'll be bringing over four hard drives and two optical drives from my current system, as well as at least two 80mm case fans. I think I currently use up pretty much every power connector from my power supply, and my current system runs fine, although it's pretty old (2500+, 9800 Pro). I'm sure a new power supply couldn't hurt, but the rest of the stuff I'm looking at is going to cost 1200 bucks or so, so if I don't have to buy it, I'd prefer not to. Still, as I said, I don't follow power issues much, so I'm not sure if it'll be up to snuff. I'm also not sure about the motherboard power requirements; is there an easy way to tell whether your PSU has a 24-pin connector? Do I just count up the little holes on the end of the cord, or would the fact that I'm running an A7N8X Deluxe mean anything? Thanks for any help...

With all the stuff you are planning to put in your build I would say you are pushing it. But who knows? Although you are planning six drives, you are not accessing them all at once, etc. I would install your new hardware with your old PSU and see what happens. No sense buying a 600W PSU if you don't need it.

A7N8X = 20 pin
Also, it is a board that regulates the CPU off the +5V... meaning he might not have enough +12V capacity available for those more power-hungry components. I'd be shopping for a new PSU.

Get one of these the Enermax liberty 620 or the Best of them all is the
Pcpower & cooling 510 turbo SLi
