Hey,
I currently have a PC built in late '07. Got an 8800gt, q6600, and 2gig ddr2-800 ram. Thinking the ram needs to be upgraded first... (you agree too?). Gonna be installing Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and thinking its probs gna not be optimal with only 2gig. So should I go for ddr3 and if so how much nowadays?
Thanks

By going ddr3 do you mean buying a completely new system? If you intend to buy a new system ddr3 is pretty much the only option. If you are talking abut upgrading that system, you have to get ddr2 as they aren't backward compatible with one another. Upgrading the ram on that system wouldn't hurt if you are willing to spend the money

I would have to get a new mobo if I went DDR3? I see what you mean... didnt really think it out before I made the post :p if I did that suppose just worth new cpu and everything
so worth upgrading the ddr2 for now?

If you don't want to spend a lot of money just making a video card / ram upgrade should hold you over for awhile assuming that cpu is overclocked

GPU as well? 8800gt too old now ? :(
I always remember it being best to get dual channel so should I buy 2x2gig sticks, or more? or buy that and add to mine?

I would just buy the 2X2gb that matches what you have and run with 6gb, if you have 4 ram slots. You need to determine if you need a video card, based on your gaming.
