Upgrading, need help on a debate

im sure this has been on here before, but im trying to make a decision quickly. im gonna be getting or thinking of upgrading to a nforce 4 motherboard, probably msi, and a AMD64 processor. now heres my dilema, i recently baught a X800XT, but its agp. if i upgrade the mobo should i go pci express? well would it be worth it? would i see a performance increase if i upgrade to the pci express card? sort of a weired question, thank you for your input.
 
There is no real speed differene rightr now, but eventually (you should have gone through another rig or two before it happens) you will see a difference. Look arround for a few rewiew sites that compare the two and you will see there isn't much difference at all
 
depends, at least from my recollection (this probably changed) that farcry did not run as well on pci-x as it did on agp. I'm sure this has changed dramatically and pci-x is getting better (more bandwith), but the only thing that should sway your option is whether or not its worth it to move onto an nforce4 board. For 1) if your running what your running now its not worth it to upgrade to another board because anything you throw at it now will be able to it take it . 2) pci-x is in limited quantities and is far more expensive 3) the upgrade path is not worth it right now i mean by the time needed upgrading will come around is probably later this year or possibly when nforce5 boards come out, for the pure fact that your card is good enough to handle all games relatively well. However if your a stickler for the latest and greatest move to the nforce4.
