I have a Dell dimension e520 looking to upgrade my gt8800

i don't want to buy something my motherboard can't fully utilize any suggestions? My mobo is pcie1 and 1066 i believe
 
Honestly not being rude , time for a new pc they range from 250-500 for budget pc's

^This. However, you'll still be CPU limited. I have a Core2Quad Q6600. I upgraded from a 9600GT (comparable to 8800GT) to a GTX 560 (comparable to a GTX 650Ti), and I'm WAY CPU bound in most titles. So even though the card is really 3-4 times faster, you're not going to get but maybe a 50% boost on average.

So, go with his recommendation for a good boost for now, or start looking at a system overhaul. I went with the GTX 560, and this summer I'm going Core-i5 Haswell, new mobo, new RAM, and potentially a new PSU. Next summer, I'll swap the GPU with a then current generation card.
 
Yah i believe he will bottle neck with a 550. Hell get like a 450 or something 460 or even the 550
 
Thanks guys i wanted to get a core 2 quad for 80 and a new gpu for 100 but maybe I'll just save money and play dead space 2 and some other games I missed
