I feel like I'm outgrowing the 7900 gtx for gaming, especially since upgrading to Vista.
I might be wrong, but it seems to me that the 8800 GTS series is probably my next stop, given the price point and the performance boost. I mostly play fps and mmorpg games.
So two questions:

a) Will the 8800 gts series provide a significant gaming boost? (note: I'm not willing to pay the $400+ on the GTX)

b) Which 8800 gts makes sense? I am extremely lost with the various memory options (320, 512, 640) and the GTS type (regular, KO, OC) options.

Thanks!

P.s.: E6600 cpu, Abit Aw9d-max, 4gb ram, 500w psu, 24" monitor (i typically play at 16x10 or 19x12)

the 8800GTS 512MB is the newest one since it is made on a 65nm process, get that one. It should be a fairly good boost from your 7900 (and it also supports dx10 - you have vista :p) I would just go for the normal version, overclocked cards are a waste IMO unless for some reason you absolutely don't want to do it yourself..

You may want to wait to see the new Nvidia 9 series videocards which are due out soon.

Thanks for the info, I couldn't figure out if the 512 were the latest or middle of the road. I learned long ago that more video ram is not always better :)
When is the new 9xxx series due out?
