1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming, photo editing, general use
2) What's your budget? Around 350 dollars total
3) Where do you live? Athens GA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, MB, RAM
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Seasonic M12II 620W is my PSU. All I need is the parts above
6) Will you be overclocking? Yes. I
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have? 24"
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Now
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? I need a MB with great OCing capabilities and color specific: Black or blue PCB with either black/white/blue trim. No reds, yellow, green..etc
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? Win 7 64 bit

I am parting out my s775 build and the main reason is cosmetics. I have a DFI x38 and the green does not go with my new case at all. I was going to just replace the s775 board and be done with it, but you know how it goes when you start looking.

I am thinking a s1156/i3 combo is the cheapest and best way to go as I hear they OC well. With the socket already coming to a close though I am not sure. I do not want to spend the money on 1336, so my other option would be AM3. If I went AM3 I would want a definate upgrade from the e6550 (3.4ghz), but not necessarily a 6 core.

I guess what I am looking for is a cheap MB, CPU, RAM combo that will OC well. I can pic up the i3 at MC for under a 100, a board for around a 100 and then just some solid DDR. Not sure about the AMD side or whether 1156 is worth investing in at this time. Thanks for any input.

In your case, the Core i3 route is not a good idea. For your budget, pick up the Phenom II 955 CPU.

Now does the RAM have to be any specific color? :D

EDIT: Also your color schemes for the mobo pretty much narrows you down to Gigabyte or Asus mobos and handful of MSI mobos.
