so my bro wants to upgrade his hd but he wants to keep his other one in too, hes planning to get a raptor and keep his 250gb in the system too. the 250gb has Windows and everything on it, say if i were to plug the raptor in and we just "cut&paste" to the raptor would everything be fine? or would we have to do a whole reformat? ive never had to upgrade my drives lol so i wouldnt know thanks in advance for your input =]
 
Nope, you need to use Ghost or Acronis True Image to make an image of the drive in order to "reinstall" everything on the new drive (as long as there isn't too much data on that image).
 
You could use the "disk clone" utility that comes in WD's DataLifeGuard Tools and copy the old drive to the new Raptor(as long as the data will fit). Then boot with the Raptor and reformat the old drive for storage.
