Hi, I've been thinking about selling my MacBook Pro to get a 12 core Mac Pro, Do you guys think I could get 1/10th of the value out of it to pay for my MacBook Pro Also I've been thinking about trying to find somewhere else besides ebay because last time they charged me wayy too much for wayy too little :| any suggestions?

I wouldn't buy a Mac Pro right now, hasn't been updated in ages.

New ones will be out eventually.
 
Sell the Macbook Pro on Craigslist and wait for the SB-E Mac Pros that are coming out.
 
You might get a nice chunk of change for your MBP (btw, NOT an HD video camera) but I agree with these guys... steer clear of the Mac Pros until the next update.
 
Why sell your Macbook Pro? It's actually a great machine, unless you're a gamer. Depending on what model you have, you can probably receive $400 for it on Craigslist and Ebay. I'd recommend just keeping the machine until a completely new redesign is released. I myself am looking for an old 2008 non-unibody Macbook Pro.
 
I just sold my Mac Pro not long ago to move to an i7 MBP. Mine was only an 8 core Pro though (16GB RAM, SSD, 4870). Nice machine, but big and a space heater when running.
 
That space heater function would be great in the winter though. Makes your feet nice and toasty on long programming sessions. (Depending on the location you live.):p

Hey, that's cool though to each his own. I'm a type of person to use a computer until software is no longer produced for it. Call me crazy.
 
Nothing crazy about that! I tend to do that with apple products because they're expensive and not easily upgradeable. With pcs though it's a different story :)
 
Yeah, definitely wait for the new Mac Pro models if you are seriously thinking about going that route. The newer tech will be worth it.
 
A Macbook like that at least sells for 650. The Penryn's the model before the unibody sells anywhere from 400-500 here in Los Angeles

Anyone buying a Mac Pro should definitely wait - it's probably been over a year since it was refreshed. Air was refreshed earlier this year.
 
If you feel that you really NEED a mac pro, then by all means wait to see what they do with the next revision.......IF they incorporate all the newest technology/cpu's etc, they will be some seriously heavy duty screamers :)
